Print or email a receipt or invoice
Give the customer a receipt on paper or by email, and print one again later.
Print a receipt
- On the register, with the customer's ticket showing, click the blue printer button above the ticket.
- Your browser's print window opens. Choose your printer and click Print.
You do not need a special printer. Any printer your computer can use will work. A small receipt printer is neater and faster; see Printers, scanners and cash drawers: what works with Quid.
Email it instead
- Click the envelope button above the ticket (its name is "Email Invoice").
- Type the customer's email address.
- Click Submit.
The customer receives the invoice as an email. If the customer is already attached to the ticket and has an email address on file, it is filled in for you.
Print or send a receipt for an old sale
- Go to .
- Find the sale. See Find a past sale.
- On its row, click Print Receipt or Share by Email.
Want a proper invoice instead?
A receipt is a small slip. For a full-page invoice with your logo, the customer's details and your payment terms, use a PDF document. See Send a quote, invoice or statement as a PDF.
Change what is printed on receipts
Your business name, address, phone, tax number, logo and a message at the bottom can all be switched on or off. See Your business details and logo and Tax, receipt and register options (Preferences).
Nothing happens when I click the printer button.
Your browser may be blocking pop-up windows. Look for a small blocked-window icon in the address bar and choose "Always allow". More in The printer is not working.
The receipt prints on a full A4 or Letter sheet.
In the print window, choose your receipt printer rather than your office printer, and set the paper size to the roll width (usually 80 mm or 58 mm).
Can a receipt print by itself after every sale?
Yes. Switch on Autoprint Receipt in .
