"Only 2 in stock": the low stock warning

Why the register warns you, what to do, and how to stop sales of items you do not have.

Where to find it SettingsPreferences Open this screen in Quid POS

When you add an item to a ticket and Quid's count for it is lower than the amount you are selling, a small note appears on the line: Only 2 in stock (with whatever number is left).

You can still sell

The note is only a warning. Often the goods are really on the shelf and the count in Quid is simply behind, for example because a delivery has not been entered yet. Complete the sale as normal. The count will go below zero until you enter the delivery.

Then fix the count

Stop sales when there is no stock

If you would rather Quid refuse to sell what it thinks you do not have:

  1. Go to SettingsPreferences.
  2. Switch on Stock cannot go negative.
  3. Click Update Settings.

Now a line that would take an item below zero is refused, and the cashier has to fix the stock first.

Good to know

This only applies to items marked Stocked. Services and items you do not count are never blocked. See Add an item to sell.
