A normal day: opening, selling and closing
The daily routine from switching on in the morning to checking your takings at night.
In the morning
- Log in at app.quidpos.com.
- Click in the menu.
- A green box shows the name of your register and the word "Closed". Click Start Register.
- If Quid asks for a starting balance, count the cash in your drawer and type the amount. This is your float: the change you start the day with.
You are now ready to sell. More detail: Start and stop the register.
During the day
- Ring up each sale on the register: Make a sale.
- A customer wants a price first? Give a customer a quote.
- A regular customer wants to pay later? Sell on credit (customer accounts).
- Made a mistake? Cancel a sale or give a refund.
- New stock delivered? Receive a delivery (add stock).
At closing time
- Finish or save any sale that is still open. See Serve several customers at once (open tickets).
- Count the cash in your drawer.
- Click in the menu again. The green box with your register's name comes back. Click Stop Register. If Quid asks for an ending balance, type the amount you counted.
- Check the day's numbers:
- shows today's sales in one line. See The Overview page: your business at a glance.
- lists what was sold. See Sales report: what you sold and what you earned.
- compares your starting and ending cash. See Till count: check the cash in your drawer.
- Log out: click the round picture at the top right, then Logout.
Tip
Cash in the drawer should equal your starting float, plus cash sales, minus any change given and cash taken out. If it does not, look at the Transactions page for a sale recorded as cash that was really paid another way.
