What Quid POS is and what it can do for you
A two-minute tour: what the program does, what you need to use it, and the words you will see on screen.
Quid POS is a program for running a shop, a trade counter or a small distribution business. You use it in a web browser (the same program you use to visit any website), so there is nothing to install.
What you can do with it
- Sell. Tap the things the customer is buying, take the money, give a receipt. This screen is called the Register.
- Know your stock. Quid keeps a list of everything you sell, with its price, what it cost you, and how many you have left.
- Sell on credit. Let trusted customers take goods now and pay later. Quid keeps track of who owes what.
- Give quotes. Tell a customer what something will cost before they buy, then turn the quote into a sale with one click.
- Send documents. Email or WhatsApp a tidy PDF quote, invoice or statement with your own logo.
- Buy stock. Record what you order from suppliers and what arrives.
- See your numbers. Sales today, sales this month, profit, best sellers, stock value, money owed to you.
- Work as a team. Give each person their own login and choose what each is allowed to see and do.
What you need
- A computer, tablet or phone with an internet connection.
- A modern web browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
- An email address.

Words you will see all the time
| Word on screen | What it means |
|---|---|
| Register | The selling screen. Also the name for one till or checkout point in your shop. |
| Ticket | One customer's sale while it is still being rung up. Think of it as the bill or the order slip. |
| Inventory | Your list of things for sale, and how many of each you have. |
| Item | One thing you sell: a product or a service. |
| Transaction | A finished sale. |
| Team member | A staff member who has their own login. |
