What devices does Quid POS work on?
Quid runs in the web browser of almost any computer, tablet or phone.
In a web browser (recommended)
Quid works on any device with a modern web browser and an internet connection:
- Windows and Mac computers and laptops
- Android tablets and phones
- iPads and iPhones
- Chromebooks
Open app.quidpos.com and log in. There is nothing to download.
For a shop counter, a tablet of 10 inches or larger or a computer with a mouse is the most comfortable. A phone works well for looking things up, checking the Overview page and sending a quote while you are out.
Use an up-to-date browser. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Safari all work. If something looks odd, updating the browser is the first thing to try.
Do I need the internet?
Yes. Quid keeps your information safely on our servers, not on your device. That is why you can log in from the shop, from home or from your phone and always see the same up-to-date numbers. It also means that if a tablet is lost or broken, nothing is lost.
If your internet goes down, write sales on paper and enter them when it comes back. You can set the real date of each sale when you enter it; see Serve several customers at once (open tickets).
The Android app
An older Quid POS app for Android exists. The web version described in this help is the one we keep up to date, and everything new appears there first. If you use the Android app and something does not match this help, please use the web version in your tablet's browser.
