Give a staff member their own login

Add a team member with their own username, password and PIN, so you can see who did what.

A team member is a person who works for you and has their own login. Each one has a role that decides what they may see and do. Every sale records who made it.

Step 1: make sure there is a role

A role is a set of permissions, for example "Cashier" (can sell, cannot see profit). Quid starts you with a "Manager" role. To make more, see Decide what each staff member may do (roles).

Step 2: add a team member seat

Each team member login is a small paid add-on to your plan.

  1. Go to TeamAdd Team Member.
  2. If you have no free seat, Quid takes you to My Products. Under Team Members, click Buy Now (or Add To Cart) and complete the purchase. See Your plan, add-ons and paying for Quid.

Step 3: fill in the team member's details

  1. Go to TeamAdd Team Member again.
  2. Type their first and last name.
  3. Type a username for them to log in with.
  4. Type a password. They can change it later.
  5. Type a four-digit PIN. This is a quick code for swapping users at the register and for the punch clock.
  6. Choose their Role.
  7. If they earn commission on their sales, type the Commission (%). Otherwise leave it at 0.
  8. Save.

Step 4: tell them how to log in

Team members log in with three things: your Account ID, their username and their password. See Log in as a team member.

Change or remove a team member

Go to TeamView Team. The list shows each person's role, last login and whether they are active. Open a person to change their details, reset their password or switch them off.

Careful

When someone leaves, switch their login off the same day. Their past sales stay in your records.

Why not just share the owner's login?

Because then every sale and every change looks like it was made by you. With separate logins you can see who rang up a sale, limit what junior staff can do, and remove one person's access without changing everyone's password.
